Bitten by Travel Bugs

I wanna go on a roadtrip someday. Alone or with someone I love.  I wanna get away. Explore places. Sleep in the car. Stop a lot just to admire the view. Visit museums and try out coffee shops. Listen to my favorite albums while driving. Have a polaroid camera. Take pretty pictures of the sunrise. Take pictures of myself. Run through a forest. Chase fog. Chase the sun. Spend hours on a field making flower crowns. Feel the wind in my hair. Buy souvenirs. Meet people. Take time to observe. I wanna make memories. I wanna feel alive.

To live a very simple life is what I thought my ultimate dream was. Be able to finish my schooling, get my professional license, have a stable job – to name a few. I got all of them and I thought I was contented and already happy. I just woke up one day realizing that there’s something more I want to happen in my life. Something still unknown.

I began my soul searching by browsing my Safari. I read several blogs about cookery, arts and crafts, gardening, item collections and other past time hobbies, but what really caught my attention are the articles of various travel bloggers who unselfishly laid out their emotions when they hop on journeys. Right then and there, I felt like I wanna book a flight to some place I don’t know. I knew instantly what the missing puzzle in my life is.

IMG_1873-2This dream has turned my life the other way round. Unlike before, my life is not anymore circling alone in my career. I do not simply wait for the sunset to come  and make my day. I became interested in geography, cultures, photography, food and delicacies, and even in documentary requirements (for international travels)  while I start to browse the destinations I will fill in my bucket list.

imageI’ve been dreaming to see the Merlion in Singapore, smell the incense burning in Hongkong, experience cherry blossoms in Japan, take a selfie with the Statue of Liberty, dine at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, bloom with the tulips in Netherlands, drive and pass by the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, beach bum in Phuket, stroll along Fifth Avenue in New York, sky dive and hop with the kangaroos in Australia, pose at the foot of Burj Kalifa in Dubai, make a  snowman in the Swiss Alps, capture together in a photo the Red Telephone and Big Ben in London, feel like a retiree in Norway, spend a sunset in Venice, walk in the Hall of Fame in Los Angeles, get soak in a wet tour at the Niagara Falls in Canada, feel the wind at the Petronas Towers Skybridge in Malaysia, feel like a five year old in Disneyland and Universal Studios in Florida, shop in the floating market of Thailand, visit the White House in Washington, immerse into the Asian culture in Cambodia and Vietnam, walk at China’s Great Wall, go green in New Zealand, feel ancient somewhere in Greece and Rome, and of course, get a step on each of the 7,107 islands of the Philippine archipelago.

Oh! There’s just so much I want to see. Even if it takes my whole lifetime, I will find a way to make this dream come true.
